Hi, sorry for linking this from askubuntu but I have exactly the same problem in Arch Linux:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/566291/b … ia-drivers. Pretty much the same configuration:
- Nvidia gtx 970
- Nvidia 346.35.
Only thing that this guy didn't mention is, that the vt is not blurry until Xorg is started eg:
add 3 to grub cmdline to boot into text mode(rescue blah)
systemctl isolate multiuser.target-> Console works as expected. After
systemctl isolate graphical.target: console is blurred.
Following problem might be related(wanted to add my problem to this post, but meh .. thread hijacking).

Edit:
Here a photo how this looks on my box.

I have the same issue with my 970, and posted here about it a week ago. My consoles are running in framebuffer mode by way of GRUB's GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep setting. They are fine up until X starts; once X has started they are all blurred/garbled.
I've been too busy to make any progress in figuring out what the issue is, though.
It was working fine in NVIDIA 343.36-6, it broke upon upgrading to 346.35-3, and remains broken for 346.35-4.
Downgrading to 343.36-6 "solves" the problem.

Great, at least I'm not the only one here.
I didn't use keep, but my high resolution setting triggers the same behaviour:
GRUB_GFXMODE="1920x1200x16"
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1920x1200x16Had it with 32 bit colors before, but changing it to 16 bit didn't help, except it doesn't feel so sluggish as with 32 bit.

Still happening in 345.35-5. I don't know if I should file a bug report on the Arch bugtracker or if this is an upstream problem.

I'm pretty sure it's some kind of fu** up by Nvidia.

Same happens to me with syslinux and "vga=865" kernel parameter. During boot everything is fine but after the XServer is running it looks like a 640x480 stretched resolution.
Did anyone find a solution so far?

Hi,
I also confirm the behavior with 2x GTX 970 SLI + Base Mosaic Mode and Nvidia 346.35-6.
Hope this get fixed soon. Or we find a workaround for that issue.

Seems to have been fixed with 346.47, at least on my box it works again
