Hi,
I can not get my xbox 360 controller to stop blinking. I installed this: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/steamos-xpad-dkms because it seem to work for people. I recieved no errors during installation and the controller work as before after a restart - everything work, except it still blinks.
I am in a lose on what to do, help me on the right track please.
Regards
Martin

Update:
In my /usr/lib/modules/3.15.5-2-ARCH/kernel/drivers/input/joystick/xpad/
I do have: xpad.ko
And in /usr/lib/modules/3.15.5-2-ARCH/kernel/drivers/input/joystick
I do have xpad.ko.gz
So installation seem to be ok, it does not work thou.
What have I missed?

The current linux version is 3.16.3-1. Update your system and reboot.
I know nothing about the controller, but https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xboxdrv/ is a much more popular package.
Have you read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Jo … ontrollers ?
Also, please edit the thread's title so it's less informal and more informative.

Hi,
Thank your for your reply karol.
[kernel]
My system is updated, I wrote the wrong version number in the thread.
[xboxdrv]
I have not tried it in arch. In ubuntu it made the controller work without blinking, but I could not use it in any games unless I was root, (the arch wiki you referred to have a suggested solution, I missed that thx)
I would prefer to use the xpad driver if I can get that to work.

Martin

Hey! I'm using that package as well. Have you tried to do the following?
rmmod xpad && modprobe xpadFor me it seems as if it sometimes doesn't load correctly and that usually does the trick.

Hi th3voic3
No, I have not tried the command you suggested, will do in a few hours when I get home from work. I get back with the result.

Update:
Adding and removing xpad did not work, I will try to use xboxdrv to see if that solves the problem.
