Serious Problem! I can't change the login background for lxdm on startup. It is currently a default blue background and my greeter says "Login". I have tried configuring it in /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf but it won't change. I used bg=(directory). Is lxdm maybe configured with a different directory or something? I have searched "lxdm" in my system files and can't find anything.

Where is your background located? You have to move it out of your /home or change the permissions to root otherwise lxdm can not access it.

It is located in /home/armond/Downloads. however I used PCManFM to change the its permissions. I will try moving it to root since even though i changed the permissions of the file lxdm probably cant access the directories leading up to the file.
