Clear input when using bash search history

I'm using bash search history forward and back as per the wiki here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ba … completion

My issue is that after searching up through the history by using the up arrow, when I go back down the final command is still in the input, instead of it being clear. I feel like I figured out a solution to this once upon a time, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it now.

Any help?

Thanks!

Re: Clear input when using bash search history

Is it "Ctrl-U"?

Re: Clear input when using bash search history

That works, but I was thinking there was a way to make the last down button clear it automatically...
