Yesterday I installed wine-silverlight and pipelight to use Silverlight 5.1 in Firefox. I accepted all licenses using
$ pipelight-plugin --acceptand enabled Silverlight using
$ pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight5.1Everything seems ok so far, I just followed the steps in the wiki.
However, every time I start Firefox, I get several fixme's and install messages, and then the following:
[PIPELIGHT:WIN:silverlight5.1] embedded mode is on.
[PIPELIGHT:WIN:silverlight5.1] windowless mode is off.
[PIPELIGHT:WIN:silverlight5.1] linux windowless mode is off.

[PIPELIGHT:WIN:silverlight5.1] replaced API function TrackPopupMenu.

[PIPELIGHT:WIN:silverlight5.1] pluginloader.c:786:main(): failed to initialize DLL.

[PIPELIGHT:LIN:silverlight5.1] basicplugin.c:128:attach(): error during the initialization of the wine process - aborting.I already searched for the error message about npctrl.dll not being found, but to no avail.
Anyone?

You could've gotten it from the unofficial repo. Not sure where to get the missing dll.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.

I distrust unofficial repos in the beginning, so I rather build wine and pipelight myself (it wasn't such a hassle, though).
The missing dll is just present in ~/.wine-pipelight/drive_c/Program Files/Silverlight/5.1.30514.0

Now I did try to install pipelight from the unofficial repo (you're right, it's signed, so not that bad), which also installed wine-staging, and now Silverlight 5.1 works fine.
Thanks anyway for the hint!
