Hi...
...having trouble configuring WWan with Gobi 2000 on ThinkPad W510, need help...
Have ubuntu 14.04 and w7 multiboot with arch linux, arch being primary os, ubuntu is fallback, w7 is legacy, since laptop came with it, not using w7...
Ubuntu and W7 have Gobi 2000 woking perfectly well, just bootet into ubuntu and connected to vodafone germany, just to make shure...
The GOBI FirmWare Driver files are the exact same as the ones I use with ubuntu (which are those that are installed in W7)...
I have installed gobi-loader and after boot, usb id changes from 05c6:9204 to 05c6:9205 which indicates firmware loaded ok...
Anyway, after reboot NetworkManager does not show wwan connection, modemmanager-gui does not show device...
after
rmmod qcserial; modprobe qcserial; systemctl restart ModemManager; systemctl restart NetworkManager.serviceNetworkManager shows WWan and ModemManager shows GOBI Device...
If I try to connect then, NetworkManager Panel Applet shortly "crashes" (i.o.w. the WWan entry completele disapears, then after a while reapears) but makes no connection...
ModemManager shows device and schows Network, but no connection either nor traffic of any kind...
If I have
journalctl -frunning whilst doing that I get quite some warnings but can not make much sense of those...
Can someone give me a hand and directions on how to dig into this issue and possibly solve that...???
Any suggestions appreciated...
