Some Newbie Qs

Hey everyone, new Arch Linux user here. I think I finaly found my perfect distro, minimal and easy to customize. Anyway I have a few simple questions...

A) I'm assuming that arch-0.7.1.iso is the correct cd, and  arch-0.7.1-base.iso is the source code? Is that correct, or do I need both?

B) How complicated is it to setup Xorg? I did LFS system, and there was a huge config file we had to write, is this the same for AL?

Re: Some Newbie Qs

A) Base just has the base packages and any extras are downloaded after the base install. The non-base has a lot of extra packages included on the CD. It's better to use base to install as most of the packages on the regular CD are out of date.
B) You don't have to write it by hand. Just do:

pacman -S hwd
hwd -x

and edit your sample file for nirvana  big_smile

Welcome to Arch. Don't forget to have a browse around the wiki, and also a search here in the forums, if you're looking for more info. If you can't find what you're looking for, of course, just ask. smile
