I am having some trouble switching to HDMI Sound when I insert the cable. It is like it randomly detects it or does not, so a lot of the times I have to logout and login again before it will appear. That said, the logout/login works every time and the sound also works perfectly.
Still, I find it very annoying that I have to do this so often, so I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem, or have some suggestions on how to make this work?
Please let me know if I can post anything to help solve this ![]()
Thanks in advance!

Do you use KDE and have at least 2 sound cards/sound oputputs? Also, do you use alsa?

No, I am using GNOME. Not sure how many sound cards, but I am pretty sure I have two (one for HDMI and one "regular"). Is there a way to check?
I am not sure about alsa.. Tried to run "alsamixer", but it wasn't found, so I must not have it. I don't what GNOME uses for sound management as default.
