Re: arch linux fails to boot. stuck at with error

Can you use Alt+F2 or Alt+F3 to change to another tty?  How long have you waited at that screen to see if something else happens?

When did the problem start?  You successfully booted after the initial install right?  Did you test X with TWM before installing gnome?

I suspect gnome is just not starting correctly, and if you use the quiet boot parameter, this may be all that would be expected to show up on screen.

Re: arch linux fails to boot. stuck at with error

I can confirm this occurs on my machine as well (not a fresh install) since kernel 3.18. The xorg logs and journal has nothing fruitful to add. I suspect this is a kernel or systemd bug since I'm running kde with sddm over here. Interestingly, if I leave my machine to suspend then resume I can login but again there are no error messages reported except
