Re: boot error

One advice is, modify your topic name to accurately portray your problem.  Also, I'm guessing your end goal is to get catalyst working?  I don't have an ati card so I'm just going with generic pointers.  Which package are you trying to install?  From aur or from a custom repo?  What is your exact card model? Have you had the driver installed and working before?  Is this a fresh install?  Can you still boot in?  Does it load properly after a reboot?

To get more information on your failed loading kernel modules, show us:

# systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service
$ ls -al /etc/modules-load.d/

Re: boot error

From what I understand of this post, Catalyst isn't installed on your system at all.

How do you plan on installing AMD Catalyst? You either
- compile it yourself. You'll need the [base-devel] group installed the chroot, chroot into the installation and then follow the Wiki guide for compiling AUR packages with makepkg; OR
- use Vi0L0's repository. For this, you'll need to chroot in, add the repository to the /etc/pacman.conf of the chroot and the install the required package.

After that, set it up as described on the AMD Catalyst page.

Whichever way you go, I recommend the catalyst-hook package (and enabling the catalyst-hook.service) over the catalyst package, because it deals with kernel modules nicer.

Seriously, install the catalyst-hook package and start and enable the service, then reboot.
