Maybe you don't have icon for the tray, try to install dropbox-kde-systray-icons (from AUR) or other kde's icon set.
do it good first, it will be faster than do it twice the saint

Install 32bit qt-sni if you are using 64bit system.

No, it doesn't work!
This is a problem/bug in Qt (5.4.0) and the DrobBox- and the Qt-devs are working together, to find the bug.

Fixes tray icon issues for some Linux window managers (we are currently working with the Qt team for fixes for additional window managers).

I think you mean sni-qt rather than qt-sni.
But it doesn't work for dropbox because of the bug mentioned above (as I understand it).

No, it doesn't work because sni-qt is for Qt4 and dropbox uses Qt5

Is there still no possible to show dropbox icon in plasma 5?

It is possible, with https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kfilebox/
But:
1. You have to manually set display for KFileBox in the settings for the system-control-tray. (German: „Systemabnschnitt der Kontrollleiste“, I'm not sure how it's called in English.)
2. To have the right status images in the tray, your Dropbox has to run in English language. You can only change that in another Desktop Environment as you can't access Dropbox settings in KDE.
3. "rechently changed files" aren't displayed in the KFileBox Tray-Menu.
It's better than nothing, but if anyone has a better solution, please post it...
