Having troublw with Xine

Hii, it seem that when I use Amarok and Xine as its engine, I can't here no sound and it doesnt play my mp3, when using other engines it works good, what could be the problem?

Is aRts dæmon running? In that case you might have to setup dmix. There is an article on it on the wiki.

If you don't have anything else blocking up your sound, then the problem is not the lack of aRTs or dmix.

And FWIW, it appears to be impossible to get dmix working...

Here it was only to put this in ~/.asoundrc and relogin, and dmix worked like a charm:

pcm.dsp0 {
    type plug
    slave.pcm "dmix"
}

ctl.mixer0 {
    type hw
    card 0
}

Do you have a sound daemon running as root?
