PulseAudio: I have to manually switch between speakers and front audio

As I said in the tin, I have to currently switch between the speakers on my TV (Which is currently my monitor) and my headset. My tv speakers run through my HDMI cable, and the front panel is just normal 3.5mm audio jacks. What I be trying to figure out is if there is a way I can set my audio to prefer to send it through the front audio, and if nothing is connected, default to HDMI. That way everything works perfectly. Does anyone know if this is possible, and/or how to do this?

Also, I feel like this might be relevant. I'm currently using the KDE desktop, so I'm also using Kmix for sound. Dunno if that will change anything.

Thank you all!

Pulseaudio has some modules that can handle that for you.

Take a look at module-switch-on-connect (it's near the bottom), that may do what you need.

Unfortunately that doesn't work with analog outputs, which includes my headset because is 3.5mm out/in
