Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Hi,

I installed broadcom-wl drivers from aur. And I noticed frequent disconnects/loosing internet connection and also the speed that I get is very low (3.0 Mbps) on speedtest. The same thing if do on windows I get 25Mbps.
Am I doing something wrong ??
How do I fix this issue ?
Let me know if you need any info.

Thanks

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

I had bad experience with the broadcom-wl drivers too. You should use the b43 driver. You also need to install some propietary software for it. Instructions here: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Dri … stallation

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Oh, that's shame. Then probably the only option is to use the wl driver hmm

EDIT: have you tried the brcmsmac/brcmfmac drivers? I have no idea about it but wiki says it's one option.

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Hi!
Are there any news regarding the BCM4352? I'm thinking about buying one to have ac mode, but I would like to know wether it's usable (and stable) in a everyday-use setting.

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Hello

Brand New XPS15 here, with BCM4352, broadcom-wl seems to be working all right,
However i had to use my Dell USB Dock ethernet port to be able to download the wifi driver, since there is not ethernet port on the laptop.

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Can you post logs like dmesg? Especially when the DCs happen.
Maybe it is related to this:

– but no solution found yet. But in there are a few links that might help you, however they didn't help me.

It's 106 miles to Chicago we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: Broadcom BCM4352 issues

Give the drivers in http://archlinuxgr.tiven.org/archlinux/x86_64/ a try, I also have a Broadcom card and those fixed all my problems!

I suggest you switch to NetworkManager if you're using other network service, I experienced kernel panics with the driver above and netcl.
