Arch 0.7.1 Install CD no support for my Network Card?!

Hi there,

I tried to install Arch with latest CD 0.7.1. I choose FTP Install, and wait for the DHCP Setup to complete, but it alway fails with a message like "DHCPCD could'nt start..." , so i tried installing from CD, everything went fine, rebooted, but as i guesses ii had no internet connection (or lan, im connected to a router, btw).

So my question to you is, what i have to do to make this work here?
Dont wanna miss Arch! :>>

Could be worth to tell us what kind of card you use, detto.
Maybe you have to load the moduels, first. When have booted the installer cd, it kindly advices you toload extra modules with loaddisk /dev/...... . Furthermore, I guess, your machine is an DHCP Client, not a server. Configure eth0="dhcp" should do it, then, in the rc.conf.

Re: Arch 0.7.1 Install CD no support for my Network Card?!

"lspci | grep net" says the following:

"Ethernet controller: National Semiconductor Corporation DP83815 (MacPhyter) Ethernet Controller"

mh,...atm i cant test this, but would the command be "modprobe natsemi"?

and where to enter this?! :>>

edit: i edited the rc.conf at installation and did type eth0=dhcp thingy in there. always did so with 0.7 base installation cd, :>>

Ok, me again.

No other helping hand here atm?

I booted from NoodleCD again, typed "modprobe natsemi" (yep, that's my networkcard-module), then "/arch/setup/" chose FTP Installation and wanted to configure DHCP but it just gives me the same nothing-saying-error!!
What tha?.......

has anybody a clue how to get around this annoying problem?!
THX!

does eth0 exist after you modprobed the module ?
you are sure there is a dhcp server running in your network ?

Check if you have used

eth0="dhcp"

NOTE THE DOUBLE QUOTES

Booting with apg Openrc, NOT systemd.
Automounting : not needed, i prefer pmount
Aur helpers : makepkg + my own local repo === rarely need them
