Re: [SOLVED]Sound not working on kde

I think KDE uses pulseaudio by default.  Try installing and using pavucontrol and ensure the output for sound is set to the right device.

Re: [SOLVED]Sound not working on kde

When you say firefox you mean flash in firefox?  I think that uses the alsa backend so make sure you point it to pulseaudio.

cat /etc/asound.conf
# Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
  hint {
    show on
    description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
  }
}

ctl.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
}

# vim:set ft=alsaconf:

Re: [SOLVED]Sound not working on kde

That didn't work for me however i found out that i just have to go to pavucontrol and set the playback for that application to my sound card. and i only have to do it once and it will save the next time i start my computer. So i guess my problem is solved. Thanks for your help.
