KDE phonon default change?

I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this, but when installing KDE(Plasma) or any of its dependencies it asks for the phonon backend you want for qt, and the default is phonon-qt*-gstreamer which is not as well maintained.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KD … _choose.3F

Shouldn't default be vlc backend? I had an issue with gstreamer not allowing me to move output streams across different devices as seamlessly as when I used vlc (no issues).

Re: KDE phonon default change?

May not be all that well maintained, but VLC backend for Phonon stll lacks few features that Gstreamer backend does have.

Also, note that dependancy is not phonon-qt5-gstreamer, nor phonon-qt5-vlc, but phonon-qt5-backend, and it might as well turn out that pacman simply selects one alphabetically (G comes before V), with no other preference whatsoever.
