Hii, just been to kernel.org and 2.6.16 is out :!: :!:
Now, who will test it and tell us if it worth it?

You?
A bus station is where a bus stops.
A train station is where a train stops.
On my desk I have a workstation.

Well, as 2.6.16-ck1 is also available, I'll be using it - not testing it. And I'm sure 2.6.16-archck will be along shortly, too.

Already using it (using the old config of arch kernel and some customised options), no problems for now.
Excessive showering, grooming, and toothbrushing is not only vain, it wastes valuable coding time.

nvidia doesn't compile with 2.6.16, but for some reason, the website with the required patch is down.

Server now running on 2.6.16-cks1, and the difference is ....
unnoticeable.

I have read the log, didn't find more then few bugs fixed

Well, you've got a point there. I think I won't bother upgrading until they fit something really new and useful in it... like a GUI or a DVD ripping module for example

Is this with the stock kernel from Testing? If so, file a bug report, quick!

As I can't view the WebCVS right now, I am not sure. But many iptables modules moved to Xtables, which has to be enabled for iptables, ip6tables and arptables. If you forget to enable Xtables (or just copy the old .config file from the old kernel) you will end up without iptables support.

In that case, Xtables should be enabled in the stock kernel (which is what Neodreams is using).

I have same problem with Shorewall Firewall:
ERROR: Trafic Shaping requires mangle support in your kernel and iptables
I don't have other problems except boot is slower but it doesn't bother me
