[workaround] Can't change the volume of the line-in channel any more

Hello, I have an analog tv card and to hear its sound output I had to enable loopback from the line in channel in pulse audio as explained here:
http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Saa71 … sed-system
Lately I was not being able to start the pulseaudio daemon any more (although sound was still working) so I removed /home/.config/pulse as suggested elsewhere and now it starts normally but when I modify the volume levels of the line in channel in pavucontrol it has no effect (it can still be heard, but I'd like to set it to a louder level, the levels of the other channels respond correctly).

Fortunately I've found out that I can still change it with alsamixer, not sure why not with pavucontrol or kmix anymore, the channel appears in those too hmm .

EDIT: So currently (until I have more time to see what else can be done) I've switched to volumeicon instead of kmix or pavucontrol, which is a graphical frontend for alsamixer instead of pulseaudio, I was just using pulseaudio to start the loopback module and use skype anyway.
