Thinkpad T530 -- driving multiple external monitors + laptop LCD?

I have a Thinkpad T530 -- Ivy Bridge i7-3520M -- with a separate discrete Nvidia 5400M. What I'm trying to do is get the laptop to display on 2 external monitors while at the same time keeping the laptop display on, effectively allowing 3 monitors.

The laptop has a VGA port and a mini-displayport outputs on it. When connecting the VGA and mini-DP(with a vga converter) I can get both external monitors but not the internal. I've tried it with both the integrated graphics as well as setting Discrete Only in the BIOS, and setting it with the Nvidia control panel gets me an error saying it's an incorrect configuration. Gnome Displays will show the 3rd monitor but if I try to set it as secondary the 'Apply' button will be grayed out.

Is there any way that I'd be able to get this working? Would I have to set up the 3rd monitor as a 2nd X display? Can this be done on the Intel card, or do I have to use it with Nvidia, or is there a way to use both to get this working?

Thanks!
