My first attempt to install Arch failed, When I found out couldn't do boot from USB on the old "b0x" I saw this
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … ting_Linux
Which went well to the point of where/how to mount the native disk, autoconfigure grub etc... had to humbly revert to using the "Idiot Disk" (Live CD I'm somewhat familiar with) to restore the MBR, grub, and so forth...
So "Dumb-Down-Debian user" hits major learning curve. I expect there will be alot of mistakes.
Thinking maybe I should try this?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VirtualBox (because already have virtual box in the Linux)
Would something else work better be more straightforward (easier to fix)?
Have only the one PC & making matters worse have to keep the dual boot/grub for Win7 (a sad work necessity)
"b0x" ---- > http://pastie.org/10029437
The goal is to get a VM-Arch "tamed" before (A) migrating to my live ext4 parition, or (B) beginning afresh with a live HD install
Apologies for unclear original question.
Thank you in advance

Burn the Arch install ISO on to a CD-R.

Thanks Tom. I'll probably have to burn Arch onto CD/dvd when I make it "live" as my paleolithic bios doesn't see USB drive.
For now I think I'd be better off running in a VM, so I can view the "cook-book" (wiki page for destructions) in the host OS.
Can load guest from ISO files, rather than wasting media.
Thanks

OK, so you've already decided to do a virtual install - your original question did not make that clear.
Anyway, good luck.
