[SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

I followed the begineer's guide without errors  and my computer is frozen after reboot . When I pass the grub screen, it throws the following error : /dev/sdc: No medium found

But I don't have any /dev/sdc. I have sda (/boot and /), sdb (an external HDD), sdd (installation pendrive) and sde (/home and swap).

Edit :typo

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

What does your fstab look like? Go back and try to figure out some commands you might have issued that give you this error, because you made a mistake somewhere presumably. We need more than "I followed the beginner's guide" to help.

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

So between me closing your other thread where you say you used aui less than fifteen minutes ago, you have reinstalled Arch following the official guides? Bullshit.

Take some time to read the wiki and don't use some stupid script.

Reopened upon appeal.

Detail your setup and what you have done. If you have completed the install, remove the pendrive. And, as asked by nullified, paste your fstab and your partition scheme.

In case you didn't know, there are tools that might help with sharing configs and command output: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … in_clients

My system is pretty basic, just an old i5 with an ATI RADEON HD 4660.
As I said, I followed the begineer's guide and after rebooting, my system freezes. What is weird is the letters assigned to my hard drives, sda for an SSD (where I put /boot and / partitions) and sde for an HDD (where I put /home, /ver and swap partitions). I unplugged an external HDD, named as sdb during installation.
The pendrive with Arch iso is sdd.

@karol how could I post anything if my system freezes just after booting? By installing something from the arch iso???

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

What else apart from chroot should I write?
If I just type chroot from the installation USB, it says missing operand. Because at that point there is nothing installed yet, am I wrong??

Reopening this is looking like a bad idea...

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

Are you sure you've read through the beginner's guide? As opposed to using some aui script?

Mount the partitions, as you did when you installed. Arch-chroot in, as you did during the install. You did all this when you followed the beginner's guide.

Reading up on this stuff on your own is encouraged, to say the least: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Change_root

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

Is this some vestige of a previous install? Is there some other OS on this machine? When you get to Grub, press 'e' to edit the entry and see if anything is unusual.

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

Please post the output of:

lsblk -f
# parted -l

Which command did you use to install GRUB?

The UUIDs in grub.cfg (ad4103fa-d940-47ca-8506-301d8071d467) don't match the UUIDs in your fstab (a7c96fce-bc8c-4601-96f5-7699cb36bd62) -- change them manually or reconfigure GRUB.

# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Previously, I had Arch installed together with Windows 7 in dual booting. I decided to make a fresh installation using all the disk.

When I did the new installation, I formated the partitions.

This afternoon I will try to do the installation process again. I will use gparted live before to be sure that everything is formatted before beginning.

Re: [SOLVED] frozen screen after installation

Finally it was a problem with the monitors. I have a dualhead setup and it was freezing the installation. I disconnect one of them and everything went smooth. Also I realized that a wireless keyboard is not fully compatible during installation.

Thanks guys for your patience!!!
