T440s Clickpad configuration

Hi! I have just bought a new laptop and I am strugling to find a satisfying configuration for my clickpad. I have seen this suggested configuration in the arch wiki:

Also, I read the synaptics manual and the arch wiki page. My problem is that I want to reduce the soft buttons area, where mouse move isn't detected. However, I can only increase it, any value lower that 2200 is stuck at about 40% of the touchpad height. I have tried using evtest to get the minimum y coordinate and I got about 1300. My configuration is the following:

Has anyone faced this kind of problem? Disabling the Clickpad option makes the whole touchpad area move the mouse, but I lose the ability to move the mouse while clicking.

Kernel 3.19 doesn't solve this sad I guess its a xf86-input-synaptics problem? Sooner than later, libinput will probably take over X11 input so synaptics will be obsolete.

Take a look at Peter Hutterer's blog hes the X input hacker and also maintainer of libinput (Which is soon to come, and in staging repos at the moment).. But maybe we should report our messurements to him, in that case we might have a fix for kernel 3.20.

Fellow T440s user here. I'm experiencing similar issues. I also cannot decrease the height of my SoftButtonArea or AreaTopEdge.  I'm also experiencing issues resizing the middle & right-click regions via SoftButtonArea. I've been using:

That doesn't appear to work... It's still starting the right button at around 50%. As an experiment, I tried the following:

Option "SoftButtonAreas" "25% 100% 0 1200 0 0 0 0"

That had the desired result: the right button started at about 25% of the touchpad. I then tried:

Option "SoftButtonAreas" "90% 100% 0 1200 0 0 0 0"

This did not work. This behaved exactly the same way as the first SoftButtonArea that I mentioned (right button started around 50%).

I don't think this will have a different result but I'm going to try using with real numbers instead of percentages to define the right & middle button areas. It clearly doesn't work for the AreaTopEdge/bottom of SoftButtonAreas.

EDIT: As I expected, no luck with real numbers vs percentages. This is what I expected due to the nature of this bug.

I suggest you use abs (Arch build system) to patch you kernel. Something like:
