[Sun appsrv] Missing libstdc++ file

Hello,

I was trying to install the netbeans + application server 8.2 bundle from netbeans.info. Netbeans seems to install fine, but the app server complains about a missing file during install: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 (afterwards, in the logs). The dir is just empty.

Symlinking from either libstdc++.so.5.0.7 nor libstdc++.so.6.0.7 works. Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem here? Thanks in advance.

Anyone? I really have to get it working, because I'm taking a course in Business Application Programming and Software Engineering and we're kind of forced to use those apps.

You could use an rpm like this one:
ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/10.1/i … k.i586.rpm
Run rpmextract on it and copy the lib in your /usr/lib. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's worth the try.

Nope, alreay tried that. The same problem ocurred when I symlinked an existing arch libstdc++ file to libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: the install stalls at 5%.

This is about the same file you're missing : http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=19926

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
