Getting the Mic workling - AC97

OK, setup:

Onboard AC97 working fine with surround 5:1
USB webcam with Mic working
Monitor connected with HDMI (no built in speakers)
HDMI Switch connected to monitor and HDMI adapter for my mobile phone

Pulseaudo

What I want:

Mic on webcam as default mic
To be able to plug the phone into HDMI (thus switching the display) and to take audio out from the phone through the soundcard and to the speakers

Problem

If I enable the soundcard mic in default.pa using this method; https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … PulseAudio then it wants to load hdmi audio, which effectively silences my machine. If I plug the mic lead in, I only have dummy output available.

Is there any way to maintain soundcard audio, with switchable input, whilst switching hdmi visual?

Re: Getting the Mic workling - AC97

Go into pavucontrol and set your webcam mic to be the fallback device for Input (revert what the wiki article suggests, it shouldn't be needed)
