Install Arch on iMac 27" late 2009

Hy everyone, I already have arch on my laptop and it works great.
I would like to install it on my iMac 27 to boost it up. But I have never been able to install Ubuntu on it or Arch now.
I read that for ubuntu I should start it with safe graphic option because the open driver doesn't support the huge resolution of this iMac. But for arch there is no graphical installation, after the boot menu i choose "boot arch CD ******" (the first option). And after 3 rows of text everything become black and the computer continue to work overwarming.
I specifie if it helps that Arch(dual iso version) is on a USB Pendrive(not on a CD) and I used the dd command from Mac Os.
I also installed reFit, but i don't see anychange in my boot menu. Please help me.

Ohhhoh I made it!! The answer for the ones who reach this page is to add "nomodeset" in the kernel parameters. smile

Did you bother reading the page I linked to? It describes exactly what you need to do...
