openoffice wont start

running soffice from the command line gives

[zach@notapowerbook ~]$ /opt/openoffice/program/soffice

(process:2756): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library

(soffice.bin:2756): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

from the gnome-menu, it shows an error dialod that oo cannot start.

either way, i cannot get the program to load.

i do have j2re installed

Re: openoffice wont start

Did you uncomment your locale in /etc/locale.gen and run locale-gen?

(Yeah, locale-gen should autodetect the LOCALE setting in rc.conf, but it doesn't.)
