Hi.
I've just reinstalled Arch in a new HDD and I'm having a big problem with my download speed while downloading packages from pacman, I have a 10 Mb/s connection yet, I'm only able to reach over 80 b/s via pacman. If I use Firefox to download something it downloads really fast, I made a speedtest and the result was a high internet speed, here's some pings:
daedra ~ $ ping -c 3 google.com
PING google.com (74.125.227.41) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from qro01s10-in-f9.1e100.net (74.125.227.41): icmp_seq=1 ttl=58 time=23.5 ms

daedra ~ $ ping -c 3 74.125.227.41

As you can see, it takes almost the same time, so I don't think it's a problem relating DNS.
I read that people with the same issue where able to solve it with this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IPv6#Disable_IPv6 I tried everything it says but I saw no difference and my download speed while using pacman is still slow, really slow.
Also, I'm using Linux 3.14.37-1-lts but I've already tried using the latest kernel and I'm using ethernet.
Any help is welcome

Hello,
Did you sort the mirrors according to speed ?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mi … t_by_speed
Also, I would make sure that the mirrors are 100% synced by checking them at https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/status/ , after they get sorted by speed.

Arch makes me cry and pull my hair out but I soon realized thats a part of my learning process.

Wow, thanks for the astonishingly quick reply newguy, that actually solved my problem, I'd have never guessed the problem was with my mirrors.
Thank you very much!
