Hi,
I am using PAE kernel and the package I use is abandoned: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-pae/
What should I use instead?
There is linux-libre-pae package but there are some strange dependencies that I dont like. Perhaps there is another possibility...
Thanks

You could adopt it and maintain it yourself.
Moving to AUR Issues...

I know...
I believe there must be quite a lot people like me who face this problem...

I did not know about this, thanks, but newest kernel provided there is:
linux-pae/linux-pae 3.17.1-1
and current kernel is 3.19.x. So ... ?

That's Wizetek's repo, is it still updated now that he's abandoned the AUR package?
EDIT: Looks like it isn't.

I provided the update to 3.18.4, because I guessed people were getting uneasy about the lack of updates.
As much as I could provide an update to the 3.19.x series, I don't use PAE and I maintain quite a number of (kernel) packages as it is, so taking up another would really be pushing it.
Claire is fine.
Problems? I have dysgraphia, so clear and concise please.

I completely understand your position... I have only 4GB or RAM so I would not lose too much if I come back to standard kernel... or I still can go x64, but I am not sure if it is worth the effort with 4 GB of RAM

Almost all of my machines have "only" 4GB and they all run 64bit...

And Phoronix backs that up with numbers:

Thanks guys, I will gradually migrate to 64bit. I would prefer to do it via chroot from current system but it is not straightforward as I understand
