I have created a VM in Virtualbox as "root". Its up and running.
But I cannot see the VM folder as "user" and can't add the same VM for "user"
Looks silly. Pls help

Create copy of your session and open it as regular user.

I don't know how to do that. However I have done something else .......
1. Given full permission to "user" to my "root" directory + Virtualbox VM directory + .vdi file
2. Created a New VM logging in as "user" with .vdi file
Now it is working. But is it OK ? and an accepted method ?

You can export OVF from your virtual machine from:
File-->Export Appliance then move it under user.
Then open it as regular user from where you moved it.
You can choose to use it from root folder but i would not recommend it.
Generally giving user such access is bad practice.

Sorry to update as I had no access to my Archlinux laptop for a few days. Your reply resolved my issue. Thanks a lot
