Plasma 5.3 beta packages are up for testing in [kde-unstable].
New in this release: plasma-mediacenter, plasma-sdk. See the official announcement for other changes.
Report packaging issues to bugs.archlinux.org, other issues to bugs.kde.org. Note that this requires enabling the [testing] repo.
Happy testing!

Thank you!
KWIN is completely broken: 49-51 or 70 fps with vsync, or 61 fps without vsync. __GL_YIELD or KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER does not help at all (I'm on 349.16).
systemsettings still crashes somewhere in qt when going back from 'Display and Monitors', not sure who is at fault here.
I'll try to report KWIN issue when I have free time but it would help if others experience the same.

Hmm there should be an Arch logo there...

Ugh, kcm-touchpad not recognising touchpad (it's actually working). Panel just disappeared after upgrade, had to recreate it, and set everything up again.
Kwin is playing smart as per usual. At one moment cooler on my laptop sounded like a turbine due to Kwin locking CPU at 100%.
Kwin-wayland doesn't seem to be working, but will investigate that further.
Plasma-mediacenter is just..plasma. I think that's a bug in xsession file: instead of plasmashell -ap org.kde.plasma.mediacenter it starts just plain regular plasamashell.
Also, even for a preview, it looks like a mere 2 months old project.
As for image in about-distro: it's a standard KDE logo icon for me, must be related to icon theme.
Edit: Just upgraded kinfocenter. Image is too big, it shifts the relevant data to the right, instead of it being centred

While updating it tells me that modemmanager-qt is missing and a dependency of plasma-nm. Am I alone?

You need [testing] and [community-testing].

Hmmm.... something strange. When I want to look at installed fonts in Fonts Management in Systemsettings, field "Fonts" is empty, but I have got many fonts (ttf/otf) installed. Before Plasma 5.3 I could see fonts but I cannot manage them.

I had to install kf5 and kf5-aids from testing to make it work

You should report a bug upstream, there is no plural of Arbeitsspeicher.

Anyone else experiencing this bug? https://github.com/blue-systems/plasma-5.3/issues/82 .
EDIT: it seems "breeze" package should change "/usr/share/icons/default/index.theme" with "Inherits = breeze_cursors".
EDIT2: yes, i can confirm that
cat /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
[Icon Theme]
#Inherits=Adwaita
Inherits=breeze_cursors
fixes the problem.

Hmm, oxygen style for Qt4/KDE4 apps is yet again not being recognized.

Updated from stable to unstable, I am now missing window decorations completely. I can still select breeze/oxygen/plastik in systemsettins, but no decorations are rendered. Any clues?
edit: nvm, looks like I had some -git packages installed that broke stuff.
fcitx-kcm doesn't seem to be properly working, however. I can not change the default keyboard layout (ok / cancel keys are not functioning)

It appears I broke something. I canot use kdesu anymore. Even tried kdesudo, just to be sure. I then reinstalled kdesu and tried to run it again. Short c&p of what I'm seeing:

It appears I broke something.
You didn't. The KDE4 version of kdesu is now split in the kdesu4 package, which conflicts with Plasma5. The KF5 version is in kde-cli-tools, but it's not symlinked to /usr/bin, so you have to call it with its full path, /usr/lib/kf5/kdesu
Offline
got it, thnx!!
/edit
Would it be safe to link it to /usr/bin? Especially if I'm running kde-unstable, testing and community-testing (iow, plasma5)?
/edit2
Yes, it appears safe to do so. My pc didn't explode.

OK, on to a new problem. I figured out how to work around it, but it's a tad frustrating to have to do this every now and again. I'm going to assume that this problem is random. Sometimes, everything works like it's supposed to, sometimes I log in and my screens are mirrored. SDDM shows the proper screen positions every time, it's just when I log into Plasma that I get the screen mirroring. My xorg.conf is set up for metamode 1600x900_60 +0+0 (DVI-I-1) and 1600x900_60 +1600+0 (DVI-D-0). To work around this, I have to turn off compositing (alt+shift+F12), fix my monitor positions via either nvidia-settings or systemsettings-->Display. Then turn compositing back on. If I don't turn off compositing, I get horrible screen tearing and I have to blindly log out to SDDM.
If someone could be kind enough to tell me how to install or enable debugging symbols, I'll happily submit a bug report.
belated edit: also, it appears that the sound mixer has stopped working, has disappeared from the task bar. I cannot adjust my volume. This is belated because I don't think about it until I try to adjust the volume, usually when I try to watch 'SciShow' on YouTube. Device(s) are there and sound works thru them (it, I just use usb headphones). Alsa, Pulseaudio, KMix and Phonon (GST) are all installed. Tried KMix-git, still no volume control.

Fixed by deleting ~/.config/pulse/
edit: I lied. It broke/went away again...
edit2: This is getting silly.... fixed by editing the default sink to match my usb headset in ~/.config/pulse/
