Hello everyone!
I recently installed pulseaudio to more comfortably play games on steam while listening to music or voicechat. But generally I have a nice little external DAC that performs best when not confronted with resampled sound. But since pulseaudio does not support NOT resampling I wanted to use it only when neccessary. But I recently discovered that my sound had gotten kinda weird and that Firefox played sound while I was listening to music which should not even be possible. So I fired up htop and discovered that pulseaudio was running. I just installed it. I activated no deamon and am running an i3 session activated by lightdm. So how is this possible and how can I disable this behaviour?
Thanks in advance for any help! ![]()

try this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … dio_server
Don't miss the last note about .desktop file in /etc/xdg/autostart/, even though I don't know if that matters with i3
