League of Legends performance

Hi,

LoL runs really bad on my PC. I tried to search for performance improvements, but i didnt find much. Am I the only one who cant get LoL to run smooth? Just telling me if LoL runs fine on your PC would be a big help to me! Since not many People complain about FPS issues im not sure if i have screwed up anywhere, or if my hardware is just not good enough.

At the moment i get like 120 fps at the start of the game, but it slowly goes down. Sometimes it goes down to like 30 fps and laggs really bad.

I have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz CPU and my Graphics Card is: VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK104 [GeForce GTX 760] (rev a1)
Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [MSI] Device 2847
        Kernel driver in use: nvidia

Does anyone get stable fps with similiar specs?

I tried wine staging with CSMT and while i do get higher fps (up to 200) and the game looks much more fluent it laggs even more (input somtimes 1-2 seconds delayed).

Is it impossible to get good performance with a i5 and a GTX 760 with wine? Or did i screw anything up? Or do i need to tweak something?

Please reply, everything is helpful.

Re: League of Legends performance

I'm pretty sure that this is just LoL itself and whatever the f they programmed into that game, I doubt a better machine will help you (and there isn't much better around tbh). Something that MAY help (your symptoms of starting fast and slowing hard while playing are reproducible here though) is set x3d_platform=1 in the [General] section of Config/game.cfg to force it to use OGL

Re: League of Legends performance

Hey,

sorry i forgot to say i already did x3d_platform=1, else my ingame shop freezes. And i use the lowest graphics settings. Vsync off, borderless mode.

I tought that maybe its impossible to get good performance in wine, but i was so surprised that there arent much people complaining about fps issues, so I tought its maybe only me.

Re: League of Legends performance

I have quite stable ~45 fps in LoL with similar CPU and 840M GPU. I have used PlayOnLinux to install it automatically, but if you don't want to use it, I think the best solution would be to recreate the steps which PoL script makes, since it uses wine as well.
