Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the automounting of external HDDs using PCmanfm. It works fine if the HDD is not formatted using ntfs unfortunately if it is, it is only mounted read only. I can manually remount the HDD using:
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdb1 /run/media/jscheller/JsPers -o rw,users,auto
How can I modify the automount properties of Pcmanfm in order to account for NTFS external file systems?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
Smartwing

Can you confirm that you have the
ntfs-3g
package installed?

@ zer0rest, if OP didn't have ntfs-3g installed, then wouldn't the mount command he/she posted result in an error?

I do have ntfs-3g installed. I am able to mount the drive manually but I would like pcmanfm to replicate the same behavior in its automount which for the moment only mounts readable not writeable.
Thanks a lot for the help!

If it is any help.
The best thing I have for automounting NTFS external, and internal drives is NTFS-CONFIG, it is in AUR.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ntfs-config/
It writes all the mounts in FSTAB for you, lazy but nice. And gives you the read/write options as well.
