Hello,
I upgraded my KDE desktop to Plasma 5 following instructions on the wiki and Conky has been acting strangely ever since. Conky is refreshing on an interval much longer than 1 second, when I start it only a small black box appears for a while, and sometimes the window disappears for a while before reappearing. Does anyone have any thoughts on getting this to work again?
These are my own_window settings:
own_window yes
own_window_type normal
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
own_window_transparent no
own_window_class Conky
Thanks,
Daryl

I've also noticed the disappearance issue. If you open another window, e.g. a terminal, Conkly will reappear. I think this is a compositing bug in kwin. Maybe your longer-than-1-sec refreshes are also compositing-related somehow? I use 10 secs, so I haven't seen this myself.
Plasma 5 is still a bit buggy. Maybe you could try kwin-git from AUR.

It started more or less working again after a pacman update and a reboot. I'll try kwin-git if it starts acting up again.

Does it still disappear, reappear for others as well?
To me it still happens on Plasma 5.2.2, somethimes conky crashes.
I use conky-harmattan with this setting:

Any solution for it?

To keep my conky from doing the disappearing/ re-appearing act, I had to modify this:
own_window yes
own_window_type panel
own_window_transparent yes
This leads to a different problem, windows will not open over conky, but can be moved over conky after opening. Nowhere near as annoying as the blinking conky.

-> it has affected every "keep below" window so far for me (i have also noticed this for conky)
