Cannot get Cannon PIXMA Pro 9000 mk2 to work

I can add the printer to the system (using KDE) after foomatic locks one of my cores at 100% for a while.  Then whenever I send something to print the activity light flashes and the thing makes noise like it's about to print.  However, at this point the print queue says rendering complete and everything stops.  I'm getting dangerously close to office spacing this thing.  Anyone have any advice?

I can get it to print a test page (basically all I can get it to do), but it comes out not fitting on the paper, black and white, and with lines through everything.  Something is horribly wrong with the driver or how I have it set up.
