MacBook Pro 11,x - Suspend not working propery

Hi there,
I've got a Macbook Pro 11 (2013) running Arch, with Gnome 3.14 and GDM.
Whenever I shut the lid, instead of suspending properly, I notice after a minute or so the apple logo lights up and if I open up the screen, I can see it's just stuck on GDM.
I've looked in /etc/systemd/logind.conf and everything  is set to default, and ignoring the default laptop action did nothing.
I've got acpid installed but haven't configured myself as such (don't really know how). Can anyone help me set up efficient suspending?  It's just overheating when it's closed in my laptop sleeve and whenever I get anywhere I have 0% battery sad
Any help would be much appreciated, first time poster so apologies if this isn't how I'm supposed to this or I'm if not following etiquette

Re: MacBook Pro 11,x - Suspend not working propery

Try editing /etc/systemd/logind.conf.
Uncomment the line that says

HandleLidSwitch=suspend

and report back if there are still issues.
In the meantime you can use

# systemctl suspend

to suspend instead, but that is probably not a great permanent solution.
