Broken Digital Audio Output Port

Hey.

So I have an msi laptop, and it seems the switch in my digital audio output port is stuck. There is a red LED emitting an evil glow out of the port, and my audio is not working. (Even through the headphones...maybe there is more to this problem actually....)

How can I disable the port, so that audio will play through my internal speakers and not think that there are headphones plugged in?

Thank you.

I am a bit of a newbie, but the whole point of installing Arch is so that I can grow in my overall understanding of the modern computer and manipulate things to my desires, so if possible help me help myself fix this problem! I still have a lot to learn when it comes to soundcards and audio drivers...

EDIT:

Some more information...Whenever I would open alsamixer when the audio was working, it would open with my HDA Intel PCH card selected, but now it opens to pulseaudio.

Also, I have done this, if it is of any help:

$pacmd list-sinks|egrep -i 'index:|name: '

and the output:

* index: 0
     name: <alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo>

EDIT:

Well that is embarrassing...it was a simple issue of muted channels...Not sure about the whole red LED situation, going to do some more reading about it, but I have my audio working now.
