AFIAK: In the early stages of arch the first developers (dp, Xentac) had mod priviledges because there were no moderators. As we grew, we aquired designated moderators to tend to the forums and thus mod priviledges to developers were no longer needed. I *think* all devs have mod priviledges in the hidden forums though.

Yes, that's correct. I've seen iphitus posting there. That's what confused me.
