Hii, I don't know why but I can't see movies in FireFox, I have installd some plugins, and still don't get nothing.
Can any one give me an help please?
:?:
for example in
http://www.gamer.co.il/gamer2/php/doc.php?id=95084
there is a movie inside, can't see it, when I was using other linux flavors I could, so I guess I miss something

Did you install a firefox plugin?
You'll need either mplayer-plugin or totem-plugin for viewing movies in firefox.

mplayer-plugin will do it?
Shouldnt I add some more plugins or something?
and what just to do "pacman -S mplayer-plugin" or what?
Offline
indeed:
pacman -Sy mplayer-plugin
In case you want some other plugins (flash/java), then also
pacman -Sy flashplugin j2re

@lumiwa, you might want to try this
rm /etc/fonts/conf.d/10-bitmaps.conf
ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.d/yes-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/10-bitmap.conf

Get rid of Helix player, its plugin probably blocks other stuff, and it won't play any stuff that MPlayer doesn't play.

I have added Helix only today as a try to solve it, dont think its the problem, I removed it and still nothing.

Look again at about:plugins and list what you can see there.
Do you see:
- Google VLC multimedia plugin 1.0
- RealPlayer 9
- QuickTime Plug-in 6.0
- Windows Media Player Plugin
Offline
I have this ones:
mplayerplug-in 3.21
Shockwave Flash
MozPlugger 1.7.3 handles QuickTime Windows Media Player Plugin
Helix DNA Plugin: RealPlayer G2 Plug-In Compatible
Google VLC multimedia plugin 1.0
QuickTime Plug-in 6.0
RealPlayer 9
Windows Media Player Plugin

Remove those mozplugger and helix plugin. Restart firefox and check again what do you see there.[/code]

Nonono, wait!
If you want to use mplayer-plugin, get rid of VLC and Totem, they probably block it.
If you want to use the Totem plugin, you **MUST** initialize a user dbus session with Gnome, either by starting Gnome via GDM, or by putting this in your .xinitrc in place of whatever you have:
exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session /opt/gnome/bin/gnome-session
If you want to use VLC, get rid of totem-plugin and mplayer-plugin.
Just remember, multimedia plugins are often incompatible!

I think only removing helix and totem plugins will be OK. VLC plugin is shipped with mplayer-plugin:
mplayerplug-in-gmp.so
Google VLC multimedia plugin 1.0
File name: mplayerplug-in-gmp.so
mplayerplug-in 3.21

so, what to remove?
I am using KDE btw not gnome
Offline
$ pacman -Qo /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/libtotem_mozilla.so
$ pacman -Qo /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/mozplugger.so
$ pacman -Qo /opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/helix.xpt
And remove packages which own those files:
pacman -R pkg_owning

You're lucky, I was runing out of patience.
Test it here:
http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/testing.php
http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger/test.html
Most of those media are supproted by mplayer-plugin but not everything.
