When I do makepkg -S, I get something like foo.src.tar.gz and when i run it through pacman -U foo.src.tar.gz, it tells me it's corrupted or damaged. I don't get it really, this happened with yaourt, google-chrome, pipelight, etc. I've been really frustrated since whenever i try to install a program using a tarball, it does the .src.tar.gz b.s. when i just want to get the applications i got fine on my last install (XFCE, not Enlightenment)

Read it carefully, case matters :-)
You can create an alias / shell function to avoid it in the future.
