After restarting I have no internet connection. In my last session I did not install anything except hfsprogs (now removed). Pinging google gives an unknown host. I can only connecti via WiFi, no cable. The WiFi works fine with other machines.
What should I check? I have no idea...

Good chance your /etc/resolve.conf is empty. You can add the following line to /etc/resolv.conf using your favorite editor:
nameserver 8.8.8.8
If it's not empty post the output of "ip addr"

that was it, solved. Out of curiosity, why did this happen?

@Wu it's because you probably used dhcp before. It get's the nameservers from the router and if you don't use dhcp after rebooting your resolv.conf remains empty. You can still use the network but without a resolv.conf file name resolving does not work, i.e. your system does not know how to map google.com to its IP address.
