I am not getting arrows somehow in Calendar & Network manager.

As you can see Above Sunday & Saturday in Calendar there should be 'arrow sign'. However it is not showing. Similar thing happens in Network applet while showing download-upload rate arrows.
I have even changed fonts from Oxygen to Ubuntu Regular but still 'box' is showing up in place of arrow.
How can I fix this ?
