Greetings.
I am pleased to announce that after many very long hours of trying to install Arch Linux onto my Macbook Pro 11 and Toshiba PC, that I have successfully done so.
A few details:
The Toshiba PC Arch Linux installation was not too bad. All drivers were in place and the only thing I had trouble doing (since I had already learned the setup process from my first Macbook Pro 11 attempts) was connecting to the internet to install Arch Linux.
I was trying to connect to my university's WPA2 Enterprise network and it took some time to figure out wpa_supplicant, wpa_cli, and dhcpcd. Once that was figured out and I was connected to the internet, then installation from there was simple as long as I followed the Arch Linux Installation Guide and Beginner's guide.
So with one computer down out of two I was feeling much better.
The Macbook Pro 11 took quite some time to install. I tried installing Arch Linux to it first before I figured out that I was missing my Wireless Network driver (wl) for Broadcom BCM4360 802.11 Wireless Network Adaper (rev 03). I followed the wiki instructions for broadcom and saw that I could download broadcom-wl from the AUR and make it into a package using pacman. Thus, I installed Arch Linux to my Toshiba PC as stated above and then I used pacman to make broadcom-wl into a package for the Macbook Pro and transported it to the Macbook by SD card. I prepared the Macbook Pro and mounted the SD card to /mnt/sdb1 after making the directory and then I was able to install broadcom-wl.pkg.tar.xz manually using pacman. Once I did so, I used modprobe wl and the wl driver was found by my Mac. Then, I was able to configure the WPA2 Enterprise network again by using wpa_supplicant, wpa_cli, and dhcpcd. Once I had internet working, I was able to finishing following the instructions given in the Beginners Guide to install Arch Linux to my system.
Needless to say, all my answers were on the Wiki, Installation Guide, and on the internet. I just had to learn the Arch Linux language and troubleshoot my problems. Since I did not have a wired network and I was missing my wl driver for my Wireless Network adapter on my Macbook, this complicated things.
So finally after a few days of continuous learning and work, I have downloaded Arch Linux successfully onto my Toshiba PC and Macbook Pro 11. Thanks to everyone's posts and help that I was able to find my answers without having to post in the forums myself.
Reasons for switching:
First, I wanted to play Star Wars the Old Republic on my Macbook Pro because it bested my Windows Vista Toshiba PC's hardware. The Macbook Pro's Yosemite OsX had not run PlayonMac and its Wine configuration without a continuous lag every 5 seconds. I decided I was going to download Gallium Nine onto my Macbook Pro and use it with Wine and try that. I saw that Gallium Nine used Mesa, and that is where I heard about Arch Linux. I read that Arch Linux was a do-it-yourself type of system which sparked my interest to want to learn more about Linux (for I was running Ubuntu and before I had even tested TOR on it, I wanted to download Arch Linux lol).
Needless to say, Arch Linux has made my older Toshiba PC like new and bested the Windows Vista OS I had running on it, and Arch Linux has even topped Mac OsX Yosemite in my opinion as it has allowed me to run TOR using PlayonLinux with a few configurations and package installation. It runs TOR pretty well set on low graphics (for medium graphics was lagging due to OpenGl in Wine - I do believe that is the problem). I was going to install Gallium Nine to enhance this, but sadly it doesn't support an only Intel GPU at the moment. Still, I am satisfied and can play Star Wars the Old Republic with low graphics (which still looks great in my opinion).
Finally, Arch Linux is the best OS I have ever used, and I love it. In the process of trying to get a game working, I have found something that I can use to really boost my PC and Mac's performance and customization and it is all free. What can I say? Arch Linux is amazing. As of right now, I don't plan to switch to any other OS for any of my computers (unless I use Ubuntu or Kubuntu for my family or my kids one day until they are ready for Arch lol). So thank you Arch Linux developers and supporting staff for this amazing OS!
I believe that was more of a review instead of saying just "Hello." If you need to move this, please feel free to move it to a review section if there is any!
5 STARS!

Welcome to Arch Linux Matlock (and all the other new users) ... Isn't it just THE best OS ?
I gave up on Windows a few years ago and began experimenting with linux. I 'distro-hopped' at first trying to find an OS that met my needs and that I felt comfortable working with, during that time I heard much talk of Arch Linux and after reading several install and how-to guides in the Wiki and on Google, I gave Arch a try ... it hasn't left my PC since.
I hope Arch brings you as much fun as it has for me. To everyone in the forums and wiki, thank you for all your help, support and sharing of your knowledge.

My daughter has been using my Arch Linux computer since she was three. Your children will learn whatever is put in front of them.

Hi,
Been running arch for a wee while now but haven't officially said hello. So, "Hello!"
Converted from slackware as main OS and have managed to get arch running really nicely on my laptops at home and haven't looked at distrowatch since! Learned so much from the wiki and reading others questions on the forums so just wanted a wee excuse to say thanks very much to everyone who contributes and gives their time. Will keep reading and hope to be able to help on the forums where I can.
ps. I used to work in IT but its been a while (I remember the mouse being invented and thinking it would never catch on!)
Thanks everyone!

I'm Jake from the UK! I'm a PHP and JavaScript developer by job.
I've been a Linux user for about 6 years using more Ubuntu and Debian however wanted something that I could build from the ground up and decided to try Arch!
Installation was pretty smooth and really enjoying the new experience of learning what goes on under the hood a bit more!

Hello everyone,
I've been using Arch on my desktop for a while and have been blown away by the quality of the distro and the documentation. I've decided to move all my machines (laptop and server) over to it. Thank you to everyone who everyone who contributes to making it so great!
Everything's been great so far except one small problem with my laptop installation. Hopefully that will be ironed out soon!

Hello Everyone,
This Ram, I have been using GNU/Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora/Debian) Since 2012. Recently I bought a brand new Laptop, So my very first thought was "Go Ahead with Arch !!!".
Absolutely starting from the scratch in-terms of Arch Linux.

Hello everyone.
I installed Arch on my laptop this past weekend after having experimented with it on some VMs, and now find myself here. I suppose I've been tinkering with various Linux distributions for a year or two, but only now got myself over the edge to try Arch. There's certainly been some frustration in the installation thus far, but there's a definite satisfaction in "owning" so much of your experience on a computer.

Hello,
I've been using linux since about 6 years, starting with knoppix and I've tested many distros until about 8 months ago when I started with Arch.
It's a great distro and the wiki is awsome, so I suppose I'm staying here for a while.
Regards.

Hey!
I'm a mathematics student that has recently been disappointed with both Windows and Mac, and so I decided to try open source alternatives. I moved on from Ubuntu about four months ago, as I started realizing it was not quite as streamlined and powerful as I originally thought it would be, so I opted from what I heard was the optimizer's distro.
I must say, these past four months have not been disappointing, and I've had a lot of fun running around different WMs and DMs. I'm glad I finally joined the crew.
Oh, and please excuse my poor English, it ain't my first language.
