Hi
I have just updated conky to the newest version (1.4.0-2 -> 1.4.1-1). Conky now has a titlebar and borders. It seems like devilspie is not taking care of the window any more. I have not changed my .connkyrc file, and it has not been modified (ie pacman). I am using Xgl, gnome2.12.2-1, devilspie 0.16-2. Anyone got any ideas of how to get conky without the titlebar again.

rolled back to my previous version of conky and the titlebar is gone and works fine. Other problems with the upgrade also include conky not loading on every desktop.
*Edit* This might have something to do with it:
From conky changelog:

* Fixed issue where some WM's don't control conky own_window windows.
While using devilspie i have to set conky to create its own window, but then devilspie takes care of it. Just a thought

On the contrary, this is for me the first release of conky where, if I choose to run conky with its own window, my wm (pekwm) is able to determine in each detail how the window should behave (without titles and borders, sticky, and so on).

i use nautilus to draw my desktop. The problem is that nautilus draws the titlebar if conky is set to have its own window, and it does not draw conky on every desktop. If set not too, conky is drawn to root window and so all the icons disapear. Devilspie allows me to have conky draw its own window and then devilspie takes care of drawing the window instead of nautilus. Then there is no titlebar and conky is drawn on every window. I might just try using another app to draw my desktop.Worked fine with nautilus before the update.

Try:
own_window yes
own_window_type desktop
in your .conkyrc
If that doesn't work, read the man page. There's a couple of new (I think) own_window_* options to configure the display.

own_window_type desktop
Thanks. That solved the problem. 8)
*EDIT*
"own_window_type override" actually did the job (desktop setting makes conky disapear whenever one clicks on the desktop).
