[SOLVED] Kate alternative?

When I close Kate it won't save the session and loses all the tabs that were open previously. I've Googled and tried a bunch of solutions non of which worked. As I don't have the time right now to continue troubleshooting katerc files, paths, permissions, etc... What is a good free alternative to Kate that saves last edited files?

Thanks.

It's a misstep in logic to think that learning several new programs will take less time than you're willing to spend troubleshooting one.

JuffEd is a good alternative to Kate, and uses QT to keep a somewhat consistent look with the Plasma desktop.

This will be fixed in Frameworks 5.11

Perfect! Just what I needed... a personal recommendation. Will prob go back to Kate eventually but just needed something that works for now. This is very similar, no learning curve and just "works" so far.
