The story: My monitor used to not get a signal at all after standby. Now I have changed the nvidia settings in a way where I precisely told him what monitor to use and removed all 'auto' values. Now, I can suspend and resume after a short while without any issues.
However, if I suspend at night and want to resume in the morning, there's no signal at first. I can, however, switch to another tty and get the usual command line interface. From there I usually have to kill the session and then restart the X server. Obviously, this is not the way I want it to be. Going back to tty1 again results in no signal for the monitor.
So basically for some reason, the monitor does not get a signal from X servers which have been in a suspended state for longer than a few minutes (need to test the duration to make more accurate statements).
Any idea why this issue occurs?
Update1:
if I suspend from tty2 without a x server running there, but on tty1, I can resume just fine and switch back to my x server on tty1. This is my workaround, though it is not very user friendly ![]()
