Multimedia buttons on a thinkpad t400

I just switched from debian jessie to arch i copied over my i3 config file but the lower volume multimedia button isnt working the volume up and volume toggle are though i have this in my i3 config to make the multimedia buttons work

bindsym XF86AudioLowerVolume exec pactl set-sink-volume 0 -- -5% #decrease sound volume

This is for the volume down but its not working

How do i fix this?
