Boot loop since linux 4.0.4-1 update

Hi

After the linux 4.0.4-1 update, my system systematically reboots after grub displays "loading initial ramdisk", even before printing anything else.
My system uses software raid0 over 2 disks and the root filesystem is encrypted while the /boot partition is not.

The system boots fine with 4.0.3-1

Any idea what is going on?

Re: Boot loop since linux 4.0.4-1 update

Given that you're using raid0, you might want to fsck your root partition to see if you've been hit by this recent bug.

Edit: Never mind, that's not probably the case as your system is booting fine with 4.0.3. Sorry about reading your post too fast... Anyway, it's worth it to be aware of that bug.

Re: Boot loop since linux 4.0.4-1 update

I did look into that bug and maybe the fix break things on other systems.
In order to be safe, I tried to install 4.0.1 but it seems that this kernel doesn't boot as well.
I will try to downgrade the mdadm package as well.

I am very afraid of this raid0 corruption issue as I am travelling with no way to easily backup / reinstall.
