This problem has been bugging me for several months, but I can't find anyone with the same problem. Occasionally, after all audio stops playing, there will be a subdued, high pitched noise coming through one of my headphone speakers. When I resume playing audio and pause again, it will usually go away, or play another high pitched tone potentially emanating from the other speaker. I've tried changing the power saving options (snd_hda_intel's power_save and power_save_controller) and killing the pulseaudio server to no effect. Muting the analog out via pulseaudio does stop the sound, but unmuting simply resumes it. The analog audio jack on my keyboard (which connects to the rear of the motherboard) and the headphone jack on the front of the case both emit the tone.
My motherboard is an Intel DB85FL, if that helps narrow things down. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of this awful noise, I'd greatly appreciate your help.
